Symptoms
- Cannot login
- Get “User Profile service failed the logon” message
- Get “Could not load profile” message
Solution #1
- Navigate to C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft
- Search for files with extension “.sqm”
- Delete all search results
- Try logging in again
Solution #2
- Navigate to C:\Users
- Right-click the Default folder and go to Properties
- Switch to the Security tab and click on Advanced
- Click Change Permissions
- Check the box “Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object” and click Apply
- Click OK and try logging in again.
