As many of you know, there is a key on your keyboard between Ctrl and Alt that has the nice little Windows logo on it. Well, that button used to just be for opening and closing the Start menu but Microsoft has built in a few extra shortcuts into Windows 7 that make things a little easier. Here’s a short list of some of the most functional ones to get you started. The full list is below.
For the following, hold down the Windows logo key and press the key listed
+ or – | Zoom into the desktop |
Left or Right arrow key | Snap the current window to half of the screen. You can also do this by dragging the window to the left or right side of the screen) |
Up or own arrow key | Maximize or minimize the current window (you can also maximize by dragging the window to the top of the screen) |
Tab | View all the open programs in 3-D (cool alternative to Alt + Tab) |
D or M | Display the desktop and minimize all Windows |
