There are many people who have wanted to remove their number from the list for closings and delays. Previously, these messages were sent under the category “Non School Hours Emergency” which required that a phone number be attached to it whether you wanted a text or email instead. Now this has its own category which does not have this emergency requirement. So if you just want to receive a text or email, you can un-check the phone option in Contact Manager.
In the following image, you can see that the user will only receive a text when school is closed or delayed.
