Welcome to Brown County Schools!

This page serves as a basic overview of the things you may need to know about the technology here at BCS.

Changing your Password

If you haven’t already done so, please change your password from the default password to a password of your choice.  This username and password will be used to access most corporation programs and resources.  Notable exceptions would be Aesop (for substitute placements) and School Messenger (for closings/delays) which have a different login (see below).

2 Factor Authentication – Gmail

Login to Gmail using the username/password you were given by the Technology Dept. You will be prompted to set up 2 Factor Authentication. Next, you will enter your cell phone number, Google will send a verification code to your cell phone. Enter the code in Gmail. 2 Factor Authentication should be ready to go. If you login from another device, Google will send a notification asking if you are trying to sign in, click the “yes it’s me” button.


Submitting a ticket

If you are having trouble with technology and you can’t find your answer in the Helpdesk, please submit a Trouble Ticket for assistance from the Tech Department.  Check out this video for help submitting a ticket.


Getting school messages (closings/delays/notifications)

Parentsquare is the primary communication tool used by Brown County Schools to send alerts, announcements, and other information to staff and parents. It communicates through email, text, phone, and via the Parentsquare app (iOS|Google Play). Staff accounts are created automatically using your corporation email address.

Changing your contact info

Check your contact information in Skyward.

  1. Log in to Skyward Employee Access

  2. Click on the Employee Information link in the top-right corner
  3. In the window that appears, check your email address and phone number.  If either is incorrect, please notify your building secretary AND the business department with your correct contact information.

Requesting an absence/substitute

Teachers

Teachers enter absences to Frontline through Kelly Services.

Other Staff

The majority of staff members will enter time off requests and absences in Skyward Employee Access. Instructions are available in this tutorial.


Checking your employee info (paystub, W2, etc.)

Log in to Skyward Employee Access to check your Time Off Requests, W2 information, and check history.  Please contact the Business Department with questions regarding Skyward Employee Access.


Getting wireless access on your phone

Brown County Schools allows staff members to access the internet from personal devices using the Staff-BYOD wireless network. Use your username/password to login from your phone, tablet, or laptop.
